I am a Telstra mobile customer. Can I use my normal mobile minutes to call CALLr?
No. CALLr no longer works for Telstra customers. We hope to resume access to Telstra customers in the future, but have no timetable for when this will happen. If you are a devoted CALLr user and a Telstra customer, you should consider switching your mobile provider to 3 or Vodafone.
What about Vodafone?
Yes you can use Vodafone to use CALLr.
If you are on a Standard Cap Plan (one of the $19-$79 ones), you will be charged a $0.35 flag fall and $1.20 per minute to call us. This is included in your monthly cap value. You are paying a slightly higher per minute rate than a standard mobile call ($1.20 vs $.90), but it does come out of your included monthly cap value so it is still much cheaper than international direct dial.
If you are on the Unlimited Cap Plan, you will be charged a $0.35 flag fall and $0.60 per 30 seconds to call us, but it is not included in your cap plan. You will be charged these additional fees on your monthly Vodafone bill.
For more information from Vodafone regarding their treatment of re-routed calls, see their website.
The information above was taken from posted rates on the Vodafone website as of Aug. 10th, 2010. It is your responsibility to check the details of your calling plan and be aware of any surcharges applied for calling our access numbers.

Can I use Optus network mobiles to use your service (Optus, TPG, Virgin)?
You may still call CALLr but please be aware of the following:
For those customers on the Optus network, Optus has stated that it will charge you for this call as an international call at international rates. Optus has stated that it will not treat this call as being part of your included value on your Optus plan. This applies to mobile operators using the Optus network as well (Virgin and TPG).
How Does CALLr Work?
- Check to see if your destination is one of the 70 free countries we offer calling to.
- Dial one of our access numbers using your mobile phone (Optus mobiles may not use the service at this time).
- Follow the instructions in our prompt. When prompted, dial 0011 and the international number (including the country code).
Alternatively you can use the + sign and then the international number (including the country code).
- Make sure that you do not hit the SEND button on your mobile. This will cause your call to go over your mobile provider’s network and incur charges.
Is it really free?
CALLr provides international long distance calling for free, however you are responsible for the cost of the call from your mobile phone to use our gateway. This means if you make a 30 minute call to India, you are going to be charged by your mobile phone provider for a 30 minute call to our access number.
Please be aware of what your mobile minutes cost before using our service. If you are on a prepaid plan that is very expensive, CALLr.com might not be right for you.
Do I need to provide any personal information or enter any pin codes?
No. You do not need to create an account, provide us with any personal information, or credit card information. You also do not need to enter a PIN code. Just dial your international destination when our prompt instructs you to.

Do you have a non-mobile access number or access numbers outside of Australia?
We do not have a non-mobile access number in Australia.
Who should use CALLr.com?
If the cost of your mobile minutes or mobile cap plan is less than what it would typically cost you to make an international call, then you should use CALLr.com. If you are on a prepaid mobile plan with rates higher than what a typical calling card to your international destination costs, then you should not use CALLr.com.
How does it work?
We have developed a VOIP (Voice Over IP) network that allows you to place internet calls from your mobile phone instead of through your computer.
When you dial the access numbers above, you are connecting to CALLr’s Voice over IP International Gateway. From there your call is placed over the internet in the same way as Skype, Vonage, and other VOIP services. When your call reaches the country you are dialling, we convert it back over to the local phone system, and it rings the dialled number just like a regular phone call.
Why don’t you include calling to more countries?
We would love to offer free calling to every country, but we can’t because of costs. The countries on this list are where the local phone systems offer extremely cheap network access to VOIP delivered calls. If additional countries lower costs for VOIP accessibility we will add them.
What is the number I dial to make an international call @ local rate?
